What drew you to get involved with the Center?
I have always had a passion for protecting the unborn and during the chaos that was 2020, I was really praying about how to get more involved in the pro-life mission. I was discouraged by how hard the enemy seemed to be working to demonize causes that stand for life and I felt called to put my money and my time where my mouth is. Shortly after, I began volunteering as a spiritual advocate at the Center.
What has impacted you most about working with the Center?
What impacts me the most about working with the center is constantly seeing how God continually shows up. It never ceases to amaze me how He really does do immeasurably more than we could ever ask or imagine.
Is there a particular moment or experience that stands out to you?
One of the very first times I volunteered at the center, I was shadowing a client appointment. We met with a young girl who walked in defeated and scared. She had big plans for school and her career and she didn’t want to give them up. The client advocate that I was shadowing was able to encourage her and share some of her own experiences as a working mom. I remember so clearly seeing the girl’s face and whole demeanor change completely to one of relief and excitement. She thanked us on her way out for making her feel so supported and she said, “Thank you. Y’all were the first ones to tell me that I CAN do this. No one else has shown any sort of support and I just needed to hear that it was possible.”
