What drew you to getting involved with the Center?

I was aware of the center’s work through my church’s involvement.  My wife and I had attended fundraisers before coming on the board for my first term.  When I was asked to serve on the Board, I was honored to add my skills to the mission of the center.

What has impacted or surprised you most about serving at the Center?

Hearing stories of lives saved and transformed by God through interaction with the amazing staff and volunteers.

What moment or experience stands out to you?

On one occasion, an African family had come to the center for help. They did not speak English.  At the very time needed, a custodian from a sponsoring church “showed up” to do his job and he spoke the exact language needed and was helpful to the staff caring for this family. The client was served and a life was saved.  God’s timing is always perfect.
